Monday - Hannah prays for a son, and promises that when he is born she'll give him to the service of God. She calls him Samuel.

Tuesday - Samuel hears voices at night in the temple. The priest, Eli, tells him that it's God talking. God tells Samuel some important stuff.

Wednesday - David has become a hero -- he's killed the giant Goliath. Saul, the king of Israel wants to kill David, because he fears David will usurp him. Saul's son Jonathan, who is good friends with David, helps him escape.

Thursday - David has been greatly insulted by Abigail's husband, and he heads out with his small army to get revenge. Abigail intercepts David and manages to make peace between him and her husband.

Friday - David, now king of Israel, discovers that his friend Jonathan is survived by a son. Even though this boy is a cripple, David invites him to the palace and treats him like his own son.

Monday - Build you life on a solid foundation: God's love.

Tuesday - Jesus loves and heals a leper, someone who was shunned by the rest of society.

Wednesday - Even though the poor widow gave far less money to the church than the other pompous and wealthy men, her offering meant far more. She gave all she had.

Thursday - Jesus heals his enemy -- one of the men who came to arrest him.

Friday - Jesus calls a tax collector to come follow him.
